On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ), GTZ is providing assistance to Latin America and the Caribbean, together with the

United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC),

which is based in Santiago de Chile. ECLAC's mandate is to help promote economic and social development in the region, by conducting scientific studies, compiling annual reports, holding high-ranking conferences and seminars, running basic and further training measures, and assigning consultants to countries in the region.
