GTZ provides advice and support for Armenia in its transition to a more market-oriented economy and greater democracy, as well as in the implementation of its national poverty reduction strategy.

The priority cooperation areas are:

• Sustainable economic development
• Democracy, municipal development and the rule of law
• Environment and natural resources

GTZ is also implementing programmes and projects as part of the BMZ Caucasus Initiative.
