Priority areas in Viet Nam

GTZ has been supporting Viet Nam in solving its development problems since 1993. To date the German Government has committed more than 130 million euro to numerous projects to be implemented by GTZ in cooperation with Vietnamese partner organisations.

GTZ is currently promoting sustainable development in Viet Nam through some 20 projects and programmes covering a range of sectors. Currently, GTZ’s technical cooperation activities in Viet Nam concentrate on three priority areas:

GTZ is also contributing to Viet Nam's development through additional projects and initiatives in selected sectors, including a programme on poverty alleviation and one project in the area of railway transport. Furthermore, GTZ contributes to Viet Nam’s local economic development and the formation of profitable international relations by setting up public-private partnerships (PPP) in key sectors.
