Partnerships and alliances in Sri Lanka

Centrum für Internationale Migration und Entwicklung (CIM)

As part of its joint operations with CIM, GTZ works together with the German Federal Employment Agency to place highly qualified experts and management staff with Sri Lankan employers.

Other partnerships and alliances

To ensure optimum project implementation in Sri Lanka, GTZ also works closely with other German and European institutions.

Other German institutions

  • German Development Service (DED)
  • KfW development bank
  • Capacity Building International, Germany (InWent)

Private-sector partners

Development partnerships with German companies, also known as Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), give GTZ and private partners the opportunity to pool their individual strengths.

Other international institutions and bilateral partners

  • Asian Development Bank (ADB)
  • European Union (EU)
  • British Department for international Development (UK/DFID)
  • Danish Agency for international Development (DANIDA)
  • United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)

Besides the government, non-governmental organisations and the private sector of Sri Lanka are important partners of GTZ. We effectively contribute towards sustainable development by providing professional know-how and support in the development and reform processes.

Within the tsunami reconstruction framework, additional cooperations were forged with non-governmental organisations such as the Malteser Emergency Aid, World Vision Germany, German Red Cross, with German cities and municipalities as well as with private initiatives from Germany.
