GIZ’s activities in the Republic of the Philippines currently focus on the following areas:

• Environment, rural development and climate change  
• Sustainable Economic Development
• Conflict transformation and crisis prevention
• Decentralisation

The choice of priority areas is also aligned to the development goals of the Philippines, especially relating to the national strategies on poverty reduction and donor coordination and harmonization. Cross-cutting themes of particular relevance are poverty alleviation, democratization and strengthening of civil society and conflict resolution and peace-building.
