Networking and maintaining a dialogue with partners who work to end female genital mutilation (FGM) is an important pillar of our commitment. Broad alliances with organisations with similar goals are what make it possible to learn about others' experiences, consolidate knowledge, and develop successful approaches against FGM. This is why GIZ works closely with governmental and non-governmental actors within German development cooperation and with organisations in partner countries.

We also cooperate with national and international networks, develop common strategies to eliminate female genital mutilation, and introduce our know-how into international procedures such as the drafting of UN conventions.
