In order to meet the country's need for sustainable development, Germany's development cooperation efforts concentrate on Economic reform and establishment of the market system (WiRAM) in coordination with the Nigerian Government. The programme “Employment oriented Private Sector Development” aims to improve the performance of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the states of Nasarawa and Niger State and to boost employment. This should facilitate the following:

  • access to information and advisory services (Business Development Services, BDS)
  • further upgrading and vocational training
  • development of demand-oriented financial products and access to financial services.

The structure of the programme is intended to place emphasis on improving the economic conditions for the development of regional entrepreneurship in micro and small companies, in cooperation with all the states, institutions and interest groups involved. In addition, cooperation with committees at national level should lead to improvement in the economic framework conditions.
