GIZ International Services (GIZ IS) views the Democratic Republic of the Congo as a priority country for development cooperation in the region of central, eastern and southern Africa.

In the second largest country in Africa, GIZ IS works on behalf of national ministries and international organisations and is implementing development projects financed by international donors, such as the EU, KfW Entwicklungsbank, the World Bank and the Global Fund. These efforts support the creation of new and sustainable structures in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which in turn will help the country emerge from its ongoing emergency situation and become more open for future development.

• Supporting the Office for Road Construction in eastern DR Congo (EU)
• Rehabilitation of basic health care (World Bank)
