The 2nd SQI taskforce meeting was held on 7th and 8th December, 2009 at the “Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB)”. Taskforce members from Guinea, Morocco, Democratic Republic of Congo, Yemen, Belgium, GTZ headquarter and from Senegal were present. In addition a representative from the Asian and Eastern European QM workgroup also took part.

Issues discussed on the agenda were

• countries and network activity reports,
• introduction to evaluation of SQI effects on health systems,
• feedback on first SQI process evaluation in Morocco,
• opportunities for SQI in the framework of business development of GTZ-IS in the area of health,
• synergies and convergences with the Asian and Eastern European Quality Management Workgroup,
• development of an operational SQI guide,
• introduction to the document “System Thinking” and SQI perspectives and Network activities of 2010.

At the end of the meeting, actions were concluded for 2010 such as

• to reinforce the promotion of the SQI product through technical documents and marketing,
• evaluate SQI impact in several countries,follow up and accompany its implementation process,
• enrich the documentation and strengthen the SQI network visibility.
