It is the primary goal of international donors and regional organisations to secure the peace process in Sudan financially and politically and to introduce a sustainable development process.

Working with numerous partners from civil society, the Joint Assessment Mission Sudan has developed a comprehensive framework plan for peace, development, and poverty reduction. The rapid implementation of these efforts also depends on the rehabilitation of the Sudanese infrastructure—a field in which GTZ International Services has already been working since 2004: on behalf of the World Food Programme, GTZ International Services is rehabilitating the road link between Naros and Malakal.
