Progress – what does it really mean? It is almost impossible to find a general answer to this question even in Western culture, so opinions are likely to vary even more if we ask people from different cultures around the world to discuss this issue. So this year an international series of conferences, jointly organised by GTZ and the Goethe Institute, focused on the many facets of progress and the different values attached to them.
