Responsible management of the environment and natural resources is an important principle for our corporate action. GTZ has set the goal of becoming a CO²-neutral company.

For us this means, for example:
emission caused by air travel is offset by renewable energy projects; here, GTZ is following the rules of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

The introduction of certified eco-electricity, the construction of a solar power unit and the opening of an electric vehicle filling station where electric vehicle drivers can quickly and easily fill up with eco-electricity are other milestones on this route. All GTZ staff can use a “job ticket” system for free travel by public transport between home and work. In addition, GTZ is participating as a pilot company in the “bike&business” campaign of the ADFC German cycling club.

In purchasing products worldwide, GTZ gives greater weight to environmental criteria in additional to the classic price and quality criteria. We increasingly use recyclable products and advise our partners on this issue.

An annual environmental report regularly lists suggestions for improvement in becoming an environmental company.
