Eschborn Dialogue 2001

Eschborn Dialogue 2001. New cooperation for development.

New cooperation for development. Business as a partner.

Over 800 people attended the Eschborn Dialogue 2001. This was the fourth time that Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH had organised the two-day event, this time on the theme „New cooperation for development. Business as a partner”.

The response from the private sector was correspondingly great. Over 200 entrepreneurs participated in the eleven events, contributing their perspective to the discussions. Whether they were about the EU’s eastward expansion, the environment, health, ethics, tourism or IT, the papers and discussions always returned to the question how the private sector and development cooperation can contribute their separate competences and strengths in joint projects to mutual advantage.

Both sides – private sector representatives and development experts – used the events primarily to establish new contacts or strengthen existing ties.
