• advises the German Federal Ministry for Eonomic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as well as implementing organisations, governments and local government bodies, which deal with the topic of migration and development; 

• establishes contacts to migrant organisations in Germany,which are involved in their countries of origin and are interested in cooperating with German Development Cooperation and promotes their projects; 

• operates the website GeldtransFAIR, which migrants can use to compare the costs and speed of the services provided by various money transfer institutions and their reliability;

• offers workshops on various aspects of migration and development; 

• draws up studies on diaspora communities in Germany and analyses the impacts of migration on selected countries; 

• develops strategies to better harness the positive potential, and minimise the negative impacts of migration; 

• engages at the multilateral level and coordinates its activities with European partner organisations, such as the UK Department for International Development and Agence Francaise de Développement.
