UDDTs - Questions and answers

What is urine diversion (UD) and urine diversion dehydration (UDD)?
Urine diversion means: keeping urine and faeces separate at the point of excretion.
Urine-diversion dehydration means: keeping urine and faeces separate, and drying of faeces.

Where can I find design drawings for ecosan UDD toilets?
Design drawings can be found in any of the following locations:
  • SuSanA website (under tools and materials)
  • Some of the SuSanA case studies contain design drawings (under case studies)
  • Technical data sheet on Dehydration toilets - Construction plans - selected examples
