  • DWA-BMZ-GTZ ecosan Symposium, 26-27 October 2006, Eschborn, Germany
    The symposium “New Sanitation Concepts (ecosan) – international project experience and dissemination strategies” was organised by the GTZ (now GIZ), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, BMZ, and the German Association for Water Management, Wastewater and Solid Waste (DWA).

  • 3rd International Conference on Ecological Sanitation, 23-26 May 2005, Durban, South Africa
    The most recent ecosan conference was organised by the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CISR). The conference was attended by 260 delegates.

  • 2nd International Symposium on Ecological Sanitation - including the 1st IWA specialist group conference on Sustainable Sanitation, 7-11 April 2003, Lübeck, Germany
    The conference was organised by the GTZ ecosan programme and brought together around 350 experts. They discussed recent developments in ecological sanitation and explored ways forward for the dissemination of the ecosan philosophy.

  • 1st International Conference on Ecological Sanitation, 5-8 November 2001, Nanning, China
    The Conference was convened by the Jiu San Society, with the support of the Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Government of Sweden and Unicef.
