Climate policy advisory services and information
The Climate Protection Programme (CaPP) advises the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) on all issues relating to climate policy. This includes performing basic research on selected themes such as the post-Kyoto regime. Moreover, CaPP is charged with representing BMZ at international events. Such events include the sessions of the Conference of the Parties to the Climate Change Convention, and coordination meetings held within the European Union. An important task of the Climate Protection Programme is to provide information on climate protection in developing countries. It does this through publications, Internet services and target-group focused events, presentations and brochures. In addition to raising public awareness, the Climate Protection Programme considers it a key task to raise awareness of climate protection issues among policymakers and to increasingly mainstream climate protection aspects in the various fields of policy action – in industrialised and developing countries alike. |
