Sector-Related Studies

As a supraregional project, TERNA focuses on new and forward-looking technologies in addition to grid-integrated power generation.

According to the DEWI WindEnergy Study 2006, various wind energy applications are expected to become increasingly viable from 2010 onwards, for example wind-powered hydrogen generation, wind-powered water desalination and supplementary use in small diesel-electric grids to save fuel.

In this context, TERNA is publishing two studies that provide an initial overview of the potential for wind-diesel systems and water desalination in developing countries.
