The autumn event organised by the TERNA Wind Energy Programme kicked off with a three-day workshop on the grid and system integration of wind energy. Speakers gave informative talks at a high level of expertise on wind power forecasts, dispatch planning and electricity trading. A visit to the Vattenfall transmission control centre and a tour of a wind farm provided an impressive insight into practical aspects of how wind energy is utilised and power is fed into the grid.

The focus of the TERNA Dialogue was directed at “New Markets in Latin America and the MENA Region”. Papers by experts from the partner countries and representatives of the German wind industry led into a constructive discussion on the market potential of wind energy in the dynamic regions.

During the annual Wind Energy and Development Dialogue, representatives from the world of policymaking and the private sector engaged in an intense exchange of ideas about the future of wind energy in developing countries.
