Policy consultancy:

  • Developing macro- and micro-level policy measures for the energy sector.
  • Defining framework conditions for energy supply scenarios, which are economically advantageous and environmentally sound.

Advice on sector reform, commercialisation and privatisation:

  • re-definition of legal and institutional frameworks
  • formation of supervisory and regulatory agencies
  • introduction of efficient regulatory instruments
  • capacity building for partner institutions.

National and regional energy planning:

  • utilization of energy information and analysis systems
  • design of operational plans for the expansion of energy systems
  • planning of decentralised rural energy supply systems
  • environmental impact assessment for energy systems.

Regional cooperation:
