Approach

Our concept: Solutions through partnerships

The GIZ’s consulting services for energy policies are based on long standing international expertise in:

  • developing appropriate sector policies
  • creating scenarios for expanding both centralised and decentralised energy supply systems
  • disseminating new energy technologies
  • devising strategies for the efficient use of energy
  • assessing and Monitoring of environmental impacts.

In our partner countries we encounter many different energy sector frameworks, ranging from liberalised markets to centrally planned economies. The solutions we offer are therefore tailored to local conditions. The GIZ supports its partners in the training of specialists, the improvement of the organisational framework and the development and implementation of energy policies. Extensive international experience enables the GIZ to recognise problems early in order to ensure the success and sustainability of the various projects. Our consultancy approach incorporates and strengthens local expertise and increasingly involves the private sector.
