Proklima`s work comprises:
A) The international level:International policy advice
- providing input to international bodies – on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU)
- elaborating international and national guidelines in developing countries.
B) The macro level
Advice to governmental organisations
- national phase-out strategies
- laws and procedures
- consumer and corporate certification.
C) The meso level
Support for companies
- choosing environmentally friendly alternatives to ODS
- planning and acquiring new plant and machinery
- employing innovative technologies for recovery and reuse
- organising waste disposal and environmental management in the private sector
- working with the public sector.
D) The micro level
Training for the following groups
- trainers, as multipliers for knowledge on the proper use of ODS and on environmentally friendly alternatives
- engineers, on the reprocessing and reuse of ODS and the maintenance of refrigeration systems
- farmers, on the use of alternative, ozone-friendly methods
- customs inspectors, on how to identify CFCs, halons, methyl bromide and other environmentally damaging substances in their checks on imports and exports.
Public relations
- organising workshops and meetings
- planning and implementing fairs
- disseminating comprehensive publications, information material, etc.
