GIZ, too, aligns its operations in the work its performs for BMZ with the PRSPs in the countries concerned. GIZ views PRSPs as an opportunity and a challenge for pro-poor development policies owned by the country in question and coordinated with all partners. Of the 53 sub-Saharan countries, 28 have by now prepared a PRSP. A further five countries have a preliminary strategy.
