Cooperation on ICT4D with other Organisations

GIZ cooperates with a number of German and international organisations, shares experiences and conducts joint activities. Our partners include the KfW Group, the German Development Institute (DIE), the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the Development Gateway Foundation, the World Bank's InfoDev programme and the ICT4D Collective at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Cooperation with the private sector: ICTs and public-private partnerships

Cooperating with the private sector is important to integrating technological innovations and business models in our work. GIZ seeks knowledge exchanges with the private sector, supports the engagement of German and international companies in sustainable development activities and conducts public-private partnership projects. Small and large ICT enterprises make valuable contributions in such partnerships.

GIZ (former GTZ) has engaged in many successful public-private partnerships promoting the use of ICTs for development. Since 1999 more than 40 such projects have been completed in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe with small and large ICT enterprises from Germany and elsewhere as partners.
