GIZ supports partner governments and institutions to employ ICTs sustainably and effectively as economic and social development tools:

• We support establishment of institutional frameworks that provide affordable, secure access to modern ICTs for the general population. We especially support partner countries in sub-Saharan Africa in improving ICT regulatory frameworks.

• We advise institutions and organisations in partner countries on the effective and efficient employment of ICTs for education, management and monitoring.

• We support capacity development to create the skills necessary for local independent development of relevant and sustainable ICT solutions.

We also encourage the use of ICTs as innovation drivers, in particular for:

• knowledge and learning systems,

• management information systems (MIS) and

• market and business solutions.
