Cooperation

PSIA has met with a very positive response in the international donor community. This is reflected in the cooperation within the PSIA Network, in which the World Bank, DFID, GTZ and other bilateral and international development organisations participate. Next to the exchange of experience and the methodological development of the approach, the Network plays an important role in defining the strategic priorities for getting the PSIA approach firmly established in the international donor community and partner countries. At present the focus is on developing and implementing a strategy to strengthen PSIA capacities in the partner countries.

Other national and international organisations can become involved in this Network too. Information can be obtained from GTZ.

In September 2004, GTZ, in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the World Bank, organised a workshop on applying PSIA in agricultural reform. A total of 100 participants from partner countries and national and international development organisations discussed the merits of PSIA and its contribution to supporting poverty-oriented reforms in rural areas. Strategies for further developing the PSIA approach were agreed, as were cooperation arrangements between individual countries and organisations.
