About us

At present, projects in about 40 GTZ partner countries and other institutions of German Development Cooperation are members of URBANET.

They founded the network to

  • exchange knowledge and regional expertise in the area of municipal and urban development, regionalisation and decentralisation
  • enhance interdisciplinary cooperation among actors
  • further develop key issues at the conceptual level
  • promote the technical and advisory support of its members.

URBANET presents news that is updated on a weekly basis with up-to-date literature, events and training opportunities as well as interesting links on this theme.

Furthermore, URBANET provides a platform for the direct exchange of experience and information among its members. In the forum, members present their project documents, reports, concepts and questions and comment on other contributions. Additionally, the network's helpdesk supports members looking for further information, materials and contacts.

Once a month, you will receive WebNews, an overview of the latest developments in URBANET.

URBANET's domain for internal members is currently reserved for GTZ staff. If you are working in a GTZ project and you wish to find out more about becoming a member of URBANET, please contact us!
