Gender mainstreaming and empowerment
The aim of our work is to reduce discrimination against women and bring about gender equality. Therefore, we are pursuing a dual-track strategy: On the one hand, a gender perspective is being integrated into all projects, development concepts, and development cooperation processes and in all sectors (gender mainstreaming). This means paying equal attention to the needs of women and men in order to make sustainable development possible and to improve the socio-economic, political, and legal status of women in the long term. In addition, measures that improve the social position of women and strengthen women’s rights are supported. In our advisory and development interventions, we are active on various societal levels and cooperate with various social actors. We thus employ an integrated approach, which takes into account the social and cultural conditions and changes the structures in the long term. In cooperation with our partners, we implement development measures that are evaluated and subsequently processed for further dissemination, so that other organisations can also make use of our experience. |
