Regional forest cooperationSide event of GTZ and FAO at the World Forest Conference on 17 October 2009GTZ and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) are organizing a Side Event as a Pre-Congress Workshop on 17 October 2009. Participants will come mainly from regional organisations and initiatives. This workshop will promote exchange on the large diversity of regional organizations and initiatives and enhance South-South cooperation. It will increase the potential for innovation and political commitment in regional forest cooperation while maintaining realistic expectations about what regional organisations and initiatives can deliver. A Message of participants will be formulated and contributed to the WFC and to other international forums on forests, biodiversity or climate change. |
