Conditions of use for press photos

These pictures are made available by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH for use free of charge in press reports (in newspapers, magazines and online) referring to GTZ. Use is permitted subject to the following conditions:

1. GTZ provides the pictures in the aforementioned manner to be downloaded and used solely for press reports referring to GTZ.
   
2. The pictures may not be used for commercial advertising, product-related brochures, campaigns or events of a political nature, or be made into posters. The pictures may not be sold.
   
3. A copyright notice must be attached to each picture referring to GTZ and the photographer commissioned by GTZ.
4. The pictures may not be distorted in any way.
   
5. A free courtesy copy of any print publication must be sent to GTZ’s Corporate Communications Unit at the address given below:

7. The user of the picture database bears sole responsibility for ensuring that the pictures are not used in a manner that is contrary to agreement, distorts meaning, violates decency or in any other manner that violates legal regulations and/or rights of third parties (such as general right to privacy and copyright). The user shall indemnify GTZ against any such claims by third parties.
   
8. In the case of damage, in particular damage including defects in hardware and software that arise during the use of the picture database or the transfer of the picture data, GTZ shall be liable only in the case of intent or gross negligence on the part of its employees or other agents.
   
9. At all times GTZ has the right to terminate the availability either of individual pictures or of all the pictures.
