GIZ International Services in UkraineGIZ International Services (until January 2011 GTZ International Services) has many years of experience in implementing projects with third-party financing in Ukraine. The largest donor for these projects is the European Commission, but projects are also financed by the World Bank and others. The projects support local and national administrations and institutions in the fields of legal reform, security, health, economy and cultural heritage. This work is helping Ukraine to harmonise its legal system and standards with those of the EU, thus promoting the opening of the country to EU trade. Ukraine is also one of the 'focus' countries in the region, which means that in the next few years, the project areas are to be extended, especially in the fields of energy efficiency, environment, renewable energies, and regional and municipal development.
