Further forms of cooperation
Cooperation arrangements with GIZ in bilateral development programmes Cooperation arrangements with GIZ in bilateral development programmes are projects between multinational, regional or local companies and programmes in the form of bilateral, international development cooperation carried out by GIZ in the partner country. These projects directly help achieve the objectives of bilateral development programmes. The GIZ programme is responsible for initiating, implementing and monitoring measures in the field whilst costs and risks are shouldered jointly. The fact that the private-sector partners aim for long-term profits serves to enhance the sustainability of bilateral development programmes. Africa Facility The Africa Facility is a financing instrument for the promotion of development partnerships with Africa-based companies. GIZ engages in partnerships programmes with local companies, their associations, national authorities and other social institutions so as to involve the private sector in the development process. This makes economic promotion into a direct field of interest for African companies whose long-term commitment creates sustainable structures. |
