New edition of GIZ magazine ‘akzente’
In this issue we focus on urban and rural development. As the world’s cities continue to expand, more and more people are abandoning the countryside. But rural regions are also turning this phenomenon to their advantage. The relationship between cities and the countryside is complex, and where development measures in rural and urban areas are concerned one should not assume the two are diametrically opposed. Economic development in the land of the nomads: In January Mongolia’s first national institution responsible for credit guarantees was founded. Loans have now become affordable for small and medium-sized enterprises. This is extremely relevant for the economy as 98% of all Mongolian companies are classed as small or medium-sized enterprises.
