Haiti: BMZ commissions GTZ to provide emergency and transitional aid after earthquake

Making biodiversity and business a win-win proposition

At an official ceremony in Berlin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel launched the International Year of Biodiversity. Norbert Röttgen, Germany’s Federal Minister for the Environment, subsequently opened a related exhibition organised by the Business and Biodiversity Initiative that GTZ is implementing on behalf of the Environment Ministry. 

Dr Christoph Beier is new Managing Director at GTZ

On 1 January 2010 Christoph Beier will take up his position as new Managing Director of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH, joining Bernd Eisenblätter and Hans-Joachim Preuß at the helm of the company.
