Green Landscape Replacing Smoking Heaps of Waste
With GTZ support, new waste legislation has been on the books in Morocco since the beginning of this year. Unauthorised waste dumps and mountains of waste exhaling noxious fumes – presently blots on the landscape and a threat to human health – will be things of the past in a few years. In two years at the latest, it will be possible to permanently dispose of some 40 percent of municipal waste in soundly structured landfills.

The potato is tempting palates and conquering kitchens throughout Viet Nam. Annual consumption is at a million tonnes. The brown tuber is ideally suited to the climate of northern Viet Nam, where it serves to tide over the fallow period during the winter months. Potato cultivation gives farmers much-appreciated additional income.
