In addition to the German Federal Government, GTZ also works on behalf of international organisations, governments, foundations and companies with worldwide operations. These projects are carried out by GTZ International Services (GTZ IS), a business area working with international clients. We draw on 35 years of experience in international cooperation and knowledge gained in over 10,000 programmes and projects in 120 countries and 100 areas of expertise. Three offices in Germany and 87 offices around the world form the backbone of GTZ’s highly efficient global network.

GTZ – a federal enterprise
GTZ IS prides itself on its high standards of professionalism and integrity. Transparent processes minimise the risk of corruption, in particular in project and financial management. We support the German Government in achieving its development objectives and enhancing the effectiveness and visibility of Germany's technical cooperation activities. We reinvest all surpluses in development cooperation projects. Each new project requires the approval of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Foreign Office.
