Until February 2010: GTZ Art ExhibitionPictures from southern Africa Dialogue, understanding, communication: these concepts play a central role in international cooperation. Knowledge of the values and norms of the partner countries, mutual understanding, and sensitivity for each other’s cultures are defining factors in the success or failure of cooperation. The dialogue which arises through art and about art teaches us a lot about foreign cultures and sparks our interest in one another. From November 2009, GTZ will be exhibiting more than 100 contemporary paintings and graphic art works from Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Alongside San artists from Namibia and Botswana, and a Tingatinga group from Tanzania, a further 30 artists are showing their recent works. All the pictures are available for sale. Each year since 1996, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH has held extensive exhibitions of contemporary art, including paintings, drawings, prints, photography and sculpture. These are exclusively the work of artists living in countries in which GTZ operates. VenueOpening: 18:30, Thursday 12 November 2009 posted on: 09.11.2009 |
